Resumen

In this article, we explore the concept of feminism, beginning with its origins and tracing its development. We examine the historical and philosophical foundations and linguistic and cultural content of the term “feminism” and the emergence of the concept of “women’s writing”. Specifically, as part of our research, we examined George Sand’s “Indiana” in detail. This article analyzes the translation of works into Uzbek from a gynocritical perspective. It explores the relationships between the female writer, the female protagonist, and the female translator. The authors aim to provide an in-depth examination of the representation of women’s discourse in feminist works and their translations. The analysis examines how different translators–men and women–interpret and convey the ideas embedded in feminist writers’ texts. The authors are particularly interested in how the translator’s gender can influence the process of interpreting and conveying the meaning of a text. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of what aspects of women’s experience and identity may be missed or distorted in translation and who is doing the translating. The authors explore the methods and techniques used by translators to convey artistic images, metaphors, and idiomatic expressions, noting that the quality of a translation depends on knowledge of the language and the personal qualities of the translator: skill, talent, and creative intuition. The article emphasizes the importance of the translator's personality, emphasizing the uniqueness of interpretation when elucidating women's discourse and feminist ideas. The authors demonstrate that translation is not only a technical process but also a creative activity in which the translator's personal qualities play a key role.
