Resumen

The subject of study in the proposed study is the semantics of the perception of recommendations aimed at human safety, expressed in the proverbs of the Russian and French peoples. The relevance of the study is due to the intensification of interlanguage contacts, which contributes to the increased intrusion of cultural material, including such small forms as proverbs. Proverbs reflect the experience gained by the people, and thus aim to pass it on to new generations, taking into account the natural and social context that is basic to the community. Violation of this context can change the semantics of experience perception, which is especially important for conveying ways of building security practices. The main research methods are associative experiment and cognitive interpretation. Reactions to Russian and French proverbs are represented in most cases by a sentence, less often by phrases or individual words. Proverbs about safety practices evoke reactions containing sensory identifiers, emotional triggers, logical supports, or value priorities of behavior in the context of danger. The reaction to Russian proverbs, compared with the reaction to French proverbs, is characterized by greater decentralization: the variability of the former is a manifestation of cognitive freedom, while the rigidity of the latter indicates the presence of a clear framework for their interpretation. The reaction to Russian proverbs also differs from the reaction to French proverbs by the dominance of logical supports and the minimization of sensory identifiers. Both groups of proverbs evoke approximately equal groups of reactions aimed at activating emotions that manifest themselves when faced with danger, and indicate adherence to the relevant principles. The paper reveals the ambiguity of the reaction of Russian-speaking respondents to Russian and French proverbs about security practices.
