Abstract

When a college of the Society of Jesus is studied, we cannot limit the collection of alluding to that school documentary sources. On the contrary, we must be aware of the multiple connections that existed with other colleges, albeit surprising as it may seen any connection between the colleges established in Granada and Segovia.

This article will emphasize on solving some problems between benefactors and Jesuits, based on the specific case of disagreements he had with Juana Barahona and his brother, Fortuno Aguirre de Barahona, with the college of Granada, and how they were resolved far away of Granada. This is an issue that arose when studying the ministries of the Jesuits at the College of Segovia, as casually Fortuno Barahona Aguirre died in Segovia.

Starting from the accident and a localist theme, which in principle should only independently affect each of the schools, is to provide more information on connecting Andalusians and Castilians Jesuits, demonstrates how states respond to a problem that stopped being a local problem to affect the reputation and good name of the Society of Jesus in court, while sheds new light on the funding and artistic production of the college of Granada.
