Policy for the Selection and Renewal of Positions

1. Purpose
The International Journal of Racket Sports Science establishes this policy to ensure transparent, equitable, and merit-based processes in the selection, appointment, and renewal of all editorial and operational positions involved in the journal's management.
 
2. Scope
This policy applies to the following roles:
- Editor-in-Chief
- Editorial Committee
- Scientific/Advisory Committee
- Section Editors
- Editorial Management Coordinator
- Production Coordinator
- Other positions defined by the journal
 
3. Guiding Principles
- Transparency: All calls for applications and decisions are published through the journal's official channels.
- Academic Merit: Selection is based on the applicants' education, experience, and research track record.
- Equity and Impartiality: Equal opportunities and evaluation free from conflicts of interest. - Editorial Ethics: Adherence to the principles suggested by COPE, standards of scientific integrity, and the journal's internal policies.
- Continuity: Renewals aimed at maintaining editorial quality and stability.
 
 
4. Selection of Positions
 
4.1. Public Call for Applications:
Each position will be advertised through a call for applications published on the journal's website and those of partner institutions. The call for applications will specify duties, requirements, deadlines, and evaluation criteria.
 
4.2. Application:
Candidates must submit a letter of intent, academic CV, declaration of conflicts of interest, and other documents specified in the call for applications.
 
4.3. Evaluation:
Applications will be evaluated by the Editorial Committee (or designated committee) based on:
- Academic background and output
- Editorial experience
- Disciplinary relevance
- Proposed contribution to the role
- Absence of conflicts of interest
 
4.4. Appointment:
The results will be published and formalized through an editorial resolution or minutes.
 
 
5. Renewal of Positions
- The standard term for positions will be 2 to 3 years.
- Renewal is not automatic and will depend on a performance evaluation, considering: fulfillment of duties, participation in editorial processes, quality of work, and ethical commitment.
- In the event of non-renewal, a new public call for applications will be issued.
 
6. Early Removal
This may occur for:
- Serious breach of duties
- Conduct contrary to editorial ethics
- Undeclared conflicts of interest
- Lack of sustained participation
All removals will be carried out through an evaluation and a reasoned report, guaranteeing the right to respond.
 
7. Publicity and Archiving
The journal will guarantee public access to calls for applications, reports, and resolutions related to the selection and renewal processes. This policy will be permanently available on the International Journal of Racket Sports Science website.
 
8. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed every two years or whenever the journal deems it necessary to improve its editorial governance processes.
